The Entrepreneur Magazine ’s Calendar for March 2009:
Successful executives the world over practice the discipline of effective time management.
Use this guide to optimise your most valuable resource:
1. Add structure and purpose to each day
- Make a list of all your activities (on Excel, Outlook or a note pad)
- Rank them according to priority
- Allocate how much time you think you need for each activity (add 50%)
- Restrict your day plan to cover six tasks
- Complete the most difficult activities first – this eliminates procrastination
2. Minimise interruptions
- Set an hour aside each day to deal with troubleshooting and unexpected interruptions that demand your attention
